8. FAQ – Usage
What happens when I open the drawer of the box?
When you open the drawer, the key compartment lights up automatically. This makes it easier to insert or remove the key in low-light conditions.
The colour of the light also gives you a quick indication of the battery level directly on the box: white means at least 25% battery level, red means below 25% battery level. You can still check the exact battery level in the flinkey portal or flinkey app.
How do I check the battery level directly on the box?
Close the drawer and reopen it within 1 second. The box then shows the battery level with 4 light signals. Each light signal represents approx. 25% battery charge.
- 4x white: fully charged
- 3x white + 1x red: approx. 75–99%
- 2x white + 2x red: approx. 50–74%
- 1x white + 3x red: approx. 25–49%
- 4x red: approx. 0–24%
Do I need to charge the box when the light is red?
No, not necessarily immediately. A red light means that the battery level is below 25%. The battery is designed for a long runtime — at least 1 year with approx. 10 operations per day under mixed climate conditions.
You can also check the exact battery level in the flinkey portal and flinkey app.
How do I see the charging status while charging?
Connect the charging cable and keep the drawer open. After approx. 1 minute, the charging status display starts automatically.
The display consists of 4 light signals. White light signals show the charged part, red light signals show the remaining part. 4x white means the box is fully charged.
When the drawer is closed, the display directly on the box stops.
Can I determine which drivers have used the car?
Yes, you retain full control and can view log data in the flinkey app or the event list in the portal.
How can I enable others to access vehicles?
Through the flinkey app or the portal by inviting new users.
